Delivery of a Bus to Al-Thuraya Center to Enhance Care Services for Persons with Severe Disabilities
The Ministry of Social Development, in partnership with civil society organizations and supporting entities, continues its efforts to strengthen the social development and care system for persons with disabilities by supporting and activating specialized care centers. Among these is Al-Thuraya Center for Persons with Severe Disabilities in Nablus Governorate, which is considered a key institution in providing comprehensive and specialized services to this group.
As part of these efforts, a bus designated for Al-Thuraya Center was handed over today to facilitate the safe and regular transportation of beneficiaries to and from the center, thereby enhancing the efficiency and continuity of services provided.
This support was made possible through a generous donation from Mr. Jamal Abu Ali and in partnership with Taawon (Welfare Association), reflecting the complementarity of roles between the public sector, civil society organizations, and philanthropists in supporting the most vulnerable groups and strengthening the sustainability of social services.
The handover ceremony was attended by Dr. Samah Hamad, Minister of Social Development and Minister of State for Relief Affairs; Nablus Governor Mr. Ghassan Daghlas; Dr. Tareq Amtirah, Chairman of Taawon; Mr. Mohammad Basharat, Director of the Nablus Directorate; Mr. Yasser Muraaba, Director of Al-Thuraya Center; in addition to the center’s staff.
Participants emphasized the importance of supporting and strengthening Al-Thuraya Center as one of the specialized institutions providing care and rehabilitation services for persons with severe disabilities. They stressed the need to ensure the availability of logistical resources that enable beneficiaries to access services safely and with ease.
At the conclusion of the event, appreciation plaques were presented to the supporting entities and donors in recognition of their valuable contributions to supporting Al-Thuraya Center and enhancing its humanitarian services in Nablus Governorate.
