MoSD Launches Training in Partnership with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center to Strengthen Social Work in Palestine

Ramallah – Dr. Samah Hamad, Minister of Social Development and Minister of State for Relief Affairs, inaugurated a specialized training session organized in cooperation with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. The session was attended by several representatives of the Center, including Mr. Mubarak bin Saeed Al-Dosari, Director of Branch Management; Mr. Faleh bin Abdullah Al-Subaie, Director of Operations Support, accompanied by his assistant Mr. Issam Al-Omari; Mr. Yasser Al-Shahri, Supervisor of Community Support, accompanied by his assistant Mr. Abdulaziz Othman; and Eng. Noha Al-Dakhil, Supervisor in the Information Technology Department.

From the Ministry of Social Development, participants included Ms. Kholoud Abdel Khaleq, Assistant Undersecretary for Community Partnership and National Transformation; Mr. Mohammad Salim, Director General of Associations; Ms. Doaa Wadi, Advisor to the Minister; in addition to representatives of several partner associations contracted with the Ministry to deliver social services.

The training aims to enhance partnership and coordination mechanisms with Palestinian institutions and to improve the quality of services provided to beneficiary groups.

In her remarks, the Minister expressed appreciation for humanitarian efforts supporting the Palestinian people, particularly assistance provided to the Gaza Strip amid difficult humanitarian conditions and ongoing suffering despite discussions of a truce. She noted that challenges also extend to the West Bank, which is witnessing an increase in checkpoints, repeated attacks, and the displacement of families in the northern areas, further compounding social and humanitarian burdens.

She stressed that the current phase requires unified efforts from all components of Palestinian society to ensure continued support for the most vulnerable groups, especially orphans, persons with disabilities, and impoverished families, emphasizing the vital role of social institutions in maintaining social cohesion and strengthening community resilience.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of partner institutions learning from the experience of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center as an advanced model in humanitarian work and service delivery mechanisms. She affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to provide technical support to any entity in need, in order to enhance efficiency and improve services for beneficiaries.

In his remarks, Mr. Mubarak bin Saeed Al-Dosari commended the efforts of the Ministry of Social Development and the Minister’s role in supporting social work and strengthening partnerships with humanitarian institutions. He reaffirmed the Center’s commitment to continuing cooperation with partners in Palestine to improve service quality and reach the most vulnerable populations.

The training seeks to review adopted procedures and mechanisms to enhance the efficiency of humanitarian work and strengthen coordination with Palestinian institutions, thereby expanding outreach and improving service delivery amid current challenges.
