Notice to families in the Gaza Strip due to current weather conditions

In light of the current weather conditions and the heavy rainfall affecting several areas in the Gaza Strip, which has led to large accumulations of water and flooding into some shelters and tents, the Ministry of Social Development calls on all families—especially displaced households—to take urgent preventive measures to protect their safety and the safety of their children.

The Ministry emphasizes the following instructions:

  • Raise bedding and essential belongings off the ground using any available materials to prevent water damage.
  • Designate an elevated area inside tents or shelters for children to sit, and keep them as warm as possible amid falling temperatures.
  • Avoid contact with, or proximity to, standing water mixed with sewage due to the overflow of rainwater into drainage systems.
  • Store food supplies and household items in elevated and secure places to protect them from contamination.
  • If possible, create temporary drainage channels and continuously monitor the condition of tents to reduce water leakage.

Families are encouraged to follow these guidelines to ensure appropriate and timely protective measures.
