MoSD Implements Training to Enhance Professional Supervision in Directorates

Ramallah – As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen staff capacities and improve the quality of social services provided to citizens, the Ministry of Social Development, through the General Directorate of Case Management and in coordination with the Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture, organized a specialized training targeting professional supervision directors in the Ministry’s directorates across the West Bank governorates.

This training comes within the Ministry’s commitment to promoting a professional approach to social work and enhancing staff capacity to monitor social cases through an integrated scientific and humanitarian framework that takes into account the needs of the most vulnerable families and individuals in Palestinian society.

The training featured contributions from Mr. Wissam Sahweil from the Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture, along with Dr. Salim Odeh, Dr. Khalil Tannous, and Ms. Shurooq Nazzal. The program covered a range of theoretical and practical topics, including psychosocial support concepts, principles of effective professional supervision, and mechanisms for developing monitoring, evaluation, and communication skills between supervisors and field teams.

Participants emphasized that this training reflects the Ministry’s dedication to building a fully professional system capable of addressing the growing challenges in the social protection sector through staff training and knowledge exchange with partner institutions—ultimately contributing to higher-quality services and tangible improvements in the lives of beneficiaries.

The Ministry continues to implement a series of training programs in cooperation with national and international institutions, as part of its vision to develop a comprehensive social protection system grounded in professionalism and responsive to the needs of poor and marginalized groups across all governorates.
