MoSD Conducts Joint Inspection Visits to Nurseries to Ensure Public Safety Standards
Ramallah – The Ministry of Social Development, through its Childhood Management Unit, carried out inspection visits to several nurseries as part of its official mandate to regulate and license nurseries in Palestine and ensure their compliance with educational, health, and administrative standards. The visits were conducted in cooperation with representatives from the Ministry of Health and the Civil Defense, aiming to verify the application of public safety protocols and environmental and health requirements to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children.
During the visits, the Childhood Management Unit reviewed the nurseries’ legal documents and official licenses, including verifying the presence of a valid operating license, examining children’s and staff records, and assessing communication logs with parents. These procedures align with the ministry’s comprehensive oversight policy to ensure nurseries meet all legal and administrative requirements.
The Civil Defense evaluated safety and emergency protocols in the inspected nurseries, including checking fire extinguishers, gas leak alarms, emergency exits, and the readiness of staff to respond to emergencies in accordance with approved safety standards.
A health inspector from the Ministry of Health also participated in the visits, noting that the ministry conducts thorough health and environmental assessments before issuing any nursery operating permit, whether for newly established facilities or license renewals. These inspections are based on formal requests submitted by the Ministry of Social Development, which holds licensing authority. The assessments ensure that all health and environmental conditions are met prior to admitting children, with regular follow-up to ensure continued compliance.
These joint inspection visits are part of a coordinated fieldwork plan between the Ministry of Social Development and relevant authorities, aiming to raise the quality of services provided to children and ensure the highest levels of safety and security across all nurseries.
