The Ministry of Social Development: Disbursing the First Installment of the Orphan Sponsorship Program in Cooperation with Action for Humanity Organization

The Ministry of Social Development announced the disbursement of the first installment of the Orphan Sponsorship Program, implemented in cooperation with the Action for Humanity organization, one of the leading institutions in humanitarian work funded by the United Kingdom. This project falls under the agreement signed between the ministry and the organization on 6/3/2023 and aims to provide financial support to orphans across various governorates of the West Bank.

The ministry emphasized that all orphans benefiting from the program were nominated by the Orphans Care Department in coordination with the field teams. The funds will be disbursed through Palestinian banks following approved mechanisms to ensure direct delivery to the beneficiaries. The total amount allocated is 345,744 shekels, benefiting 655 orphans from different West Bank governorates.

In a related context, the Ministry of Social Development continues its efforts to support orphans in the Gaza Strip through the "Hope for the Future" program, which aims to provide comprehensive care and psychological, social, and economic support for orphans in the sector. This program is part of the ministry's vision to enhance social solidarity and ensure a dignified life for orphans across all Palestinian governorates.

The Director of Action for Humanity noted that the project is ongoing, stressing the organization’s commitment to strengthening its humanitarian partnerships with the Ministry of Social Development to provide assistance to the most vulnerable groups.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Social Development values the efforts of all partners and supporters and reaffirms its commitment to continuing its work to improve services provided to orphans and marginalized groups in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
