MoSD Continues Emergency Cash Assistance for Gaza Patients Stranded in the West Bank in Coordination with the Ministry of Health

Ramallah – Throughout 2026, the Ministry of Social Development continued to provide emergency cash assistance to patients from the Gaza Strip currently staying in West Bank governorates, in ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Health, as part of its efforts to support them and alleviate the financial burdens associated with treatment and their prolonged stay outside the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry explained that 585 patients registered on its approved lists received emergency cash payments implemented in cooperation with three humanitarian partner organizations, with each patient receiving approximately NIS 775.

The Ministry noted that these payments were part of a series of interventions implemented throughout the year up to September, alongside continuous social and humanitarian follow-up, monitoring patients’ needs, and coordinating with partners to address them. Since the early stages, the Ministry has worked to support the patients, follow up on their circumstances, and connect them with available assistance and services according to their needs and available resources.

The Ministry of Social Development reaffirmed its continued follow-up of the situation of Gaza patients stranded in the West Bank and its work with partner organizations to provide available interventions and direct them according to changing priorities and needs.

The Ministry commended the efforts of partner organizations, the private sector, and individual donors in supporting Gaza patients staying in West Bank governorates, noting that their assistance has helped alleviate some of the financial and living burdens faced by patients and their families during treatment and their stay outside Gaza.

The Ministry stressed the importance of continued partnership and coordination with various supporting entities to strengthen the capacity to respond to patients’ changing needs and expand the range of interventions provided according to priorities and available resources.

The Ministry also expressed its appreciation for all initiatives that have contributed to supporting this effort, emphasizing that coordinated action among government institutions, partners, the private sector, and local communities is an important factor in strengthening the social and humanitarian response for patients and their families.
