MoSD and Its Partners Deliver Thousands of Humanitarian Interventions

The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), in partnership with local and international organizations and charitable associations, continued implementing wide-ranging humanitarian, relief, and protection interventions throughout July across the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, despite limited resources and rapidly increasing humanitarian needs.

In the Gaza Strip, more than 42,700 people benefited from food assistance, including food parcels, hot and ready-to-eat meals, food vouchers, infant formula and nutritional supplements, as well as fresh vegetables and fruits. The response also included the provision of more than 2,520 cubic metres of safe drinking water, 1,220 cups of drinking water, and large quantities of bread distributed weekly across shelters and displacement sites.

More than 15,900 people also received non-food assistance, including hygiene kits, kitchen utensils, tents, tarpaulins, clothing, and water-related supplies. In addition, 367 hearing and vision screenings were conducted for children.

Under the protection sector, more than 25,600 interventions were delivered through the Women's Protection Programme, including individual and group psychosocial support, telephone counselling, gender-based violence protection services, and case referrals. The Ministry and its partners also carried out 307 child protection interventions, 151 childhood-related interventions, and 136 interventions supporting persons with disabilities.

Furthermore, more than 1,245 orphans received direct assistance, while 1,700 newly orphaned children were added to the Ministry's database. The response also included the distribution of 2,302 shopping vouchers and sponsorships, in addition to 1,200 referrals for eyeglasses and hearing aids.

In the West Bank, the Ministry's directorates across the twelve governorates delivered approximately 8,000 social protection services covering 18 different service areas, including health insurance, services for persons with disabilities, support for women and children, orphan care, economic empowerment, associations, and childcare centres.

In parallel, the Ministry and its partners implemented 91 field relief interventions across ten governorates, benefiting 24,387 people, with a total value exceeding NIS 3.796 million. These interventions included food assistance, non-food items, and cash assistance.

The Ministry of Social Development reaffirms its commitment to expanding its humanitarian response in cooperation with its partners to ensure the continued delivery of relief, protection, and social care services to the most vulnerable populations across the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
