Jenin – Minister of Social Development Dr. Samah Hamad visited Jenin Governorate on Monday, accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Social Development, as part of efforts to enhance cooperation and joint coordination with the governorate.
During the visit, Dr. Hamad met with Jenin Governor Kamel Abu Al-Rub, where a number of issues related to the work of the Ministry of Social Development in the governorate were discussed, along with ways to strengthen partnership to better serve the most vulnerable groups, in light of the difficult economic and social conditions facing the governorate.
During the meeting, Dr. Hamad reviewed the escalating economic challenges and the rising rates of poverty and unemployment, particularly in light of the ongoing incursions and closures. She pointed to the approaching month of Ramadan amid a severe shortage of donations and humanitarian resources, which requires intensified efforts and coordination with various partners to ensure meeting the basic needs of the most affected families.
