During Emergencies: MoSD Reaffirms Continued Protection for Women and Children and Updates Intervention Mechanisms

Amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis and the exceptional conditions Palestine is facing, the Ministry of Social Development reaffirms its continued commitment to providing protection services for women, girls, and children through an urgent action plan aimed at ensuring rapid and effective field and psychosocial support for victims.

The plan includes clear and streamlined mechanisms that enable the Ministry’s directorates to act promptly upon reports of violence, assigning protection teams and caseworkers to follow up on cases and provide the necessary support. These efforts are coordinated closely with field partners to ensure a safe and dignity-centered environment for those affected.

The mechanism also facilitates case coordination across governorates through direct communication between the directors, ensuring swift service delivery and immediate response regardless of geographic location.

In collaboration with protection partners, efforts are underway to provide safe and dignified alternatives within the same governorate, when feasible, thus avoiding unnecessary displacement of victims while upholding their dignity and privacy.

Women and girls who experience any form of violence are provided with appropriate assistance by specialized entities. Field teams are instructed to offer professional, confidential, and secure support, ensuring full respect for privacy and safety.

Despite the challenges, protection teams continue to work daily across all governorates to deliver care to the most vulnerable groups.

The Ministry emphasizes that protecting women and children is a collective responsibility that does not lapse during times of crisis. Maintaining an effective response requires constant vigilance and strong collaboration among all official and community actors to build a safe environment that safeguards rights and preserves dignity.
