MoSD Explores Strengthening International Cooperation to Support the Palestinian People in Bilateral Meetings with Representatives of Malta, Brazil, and Australia This Week
Ramallah – As part of ongoing government efforts, Dr. Samah Hamad held a series of meetings this week with representatives of friendly nations to discuss cooperation and partnerships aimed at supporting the Palestinian people amid the current humanitarian challenges.
Dr. Hamad met with Malta’s Ambassador to Palestine, Mr. Franklin Aquilina, where she briefed him on the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank. She emphasized the importance of supporting humanitarian efforts and emergency response initiatives, particularly by strengthening the role of UNRWA to ensure the continuity of essential services for affected families.
She also held a meeting with Brazil’s Ambassador to Palestine, Mr. João Marcelo Soares, in an introductory session where they discussed the humanitarian situation and explored future avenues of cooperation between the two countries to support vulnerable communities.
In another meeting, Dr. Hamad met with Ms. Amanda Rithmuller, Representative of the Australian Consulate to Palestine, where they discussed recent developments and possible avenues of support. The meeting also served as an introductory session, during which Dr. Hamad provided an overview of the Government Operations Center that manages emergency interventions and humanitarian response efforts. She emphasized the importance of joint cooperation to enhance developmental and relief efforts.
During these meetings, Dr. Hamad highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts through the Government Operations Center to coordinate humanitarian response efforts and provide support to displaced and affected families. She stressed the importance of international collaboration in supporting developmental and relief programs that enhance the resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of current challenges.
Representatives from Malta, Brazil, and Australia expressed their countries' solidarity with the Palestinian people and their willingness to strengthen cooperation, contributing to the humanitarian and development efforts led by the Ministry of Social Development in partnership with various local and international entities.
