Sharjah – In a new achievement for Palestine, Palestinian child Mai Jalal Ghanem has been elected as the Second Deputy Speaker of the Arab Children's Parliament during the elections held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The elections witnessed strong competition among children representing 16 Arab countries.

The Palestinian delegation, consisting of four children, participated in the event alongside Ghalia Abu Rab, Director of the Child Protection Department at the Ministry. They took part in the first session of the fourth term of the Arab Children's Parliament, engaging in a comprehensive parliamentary experience that helped enhance their democratic and civic participation skills.

During the event, the participating children met with the Palestinian Consul General in Dubai, who congratulated them on their honorable representation of Palestine. He emphasized the significance of this experience in building an aware generation that understands its rights and is well-equipped for parliamentary work. The delegation also participated in cultural and educational activities, including visits to Sharjah’s Islamic and Civilization Museums, participation in the Sharjah Heritage Days, and life skills development workshops at the Riqq Qarn Center.
