The MoSD shelters hundreds from Jenin camp and distributes food parcels as part of the emergency support plan for affected families in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas

Ramallah – Continuing its efforts to support affected families, and as part of the Emergency Committee's action plan, the Ministry of Social Development carried out a series of humanitarian interventions in the governorates of Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas, to assist families who have faced difficult conditions due to the incursions and destruction left by the occupation, and the resulting waves of displacement.

The Ministry's Social Development Directorate in Tubas carried out a number of urgent humanitarian interventions to alleviate the suffering of families affected by the military operations of the occupation. These interventions included providing food assistance, health kits for children and the elderly, as well as sanitary pads and food meals to meet the basic needs of the affected families. The Directorate also worked to provide shelters for displaced families who had been left stranded, ensuring they received safe housing.

In Tubas, 300 people from Jenin camp were accommodated in the Aqaba shelter center, and kidney patients in Tamoun were provided with necessary supplies, including 15 food parcels through the Aqaba Municipality. Additionally, 16 pilgrims from Tamoun, who were unable to enter the country, were provided with necessary support through the provision of sanitary pads and food supplies.

In Jenin, from the very first moment of the occupation's assault on the city camp, the Ministry, in cooperation with partners, quickly provided urgent assistance to displaced families. A total of 3,113 food and health parcels, 480 loaves of bread, 328 packs of baby diapers, and 305 cans of milk were distributed, alongside 22 cartons of canned goods to associations caring for the blind and the elderly. Coordination was also made with local authorities to gather data on displaced families and facilitate the distribution of aid. Qabatia warehouses were adopted as the primary storage and sorting center, with the help of volunteers from the Qabatia Charitable Association and the Martyrs Triangle, ensuring rapid and efficient delivery of relief.

As part of its plan to ensure coordination, the Directorate of Social Development in Jenin held four meetings with local partners, including the Jenin Municipality, the Governorate, UNRWA, Zakat committees, and the Refugee Affairs Department. These meetings focused on evaluating relief operations and strengthening cooperation to ensure the continuity of support and its delivery to those in need in an organized and transparent manner. The Ministry is also working on securing medical insurance for the most vulnerable groups and ensuring the provision of safe shelters for affected families, in cooperation with the local community and humanitarian organizations.

In Tulkarem, three trucks loaded with relief supplies from the Ministry's warehouses arrived and were distributed to 1,500 displaced families in various areas. The interventions included providing basic needs such as milk, baby diapers, water, blankets, and clothing, with a total value of 16,800 shekels, in cooperation with village councils and charitable organizations. Additionally, a list of 40 displaced families from Nur Shams and Tulkarem camps was prepared to receive additional aid provided by the "Our Youth House" Foundation, as part of the Ministry's efforts to enhance the humanitarian response and ease the suffering of affected families.

On another front, the Directorate continued its efforts to secure emergency health services by providing medical insurance for the most in-need groups, in addition to actively participating in all committees working in the governorate to ensure the integration of relief efforts. Coordination was also carried out with the local community to provide safe shelters for affected families, meet their basic needs, and follow up to ensure they receive the necessary care.

The Ministry of Social Development affirms its commitment to continue its efforts to support affected families and work collaboratively with all local and international entities to ensure a rapid and organized humanitarian response, ensuring that aid reaches families who need it in fairness and dignity.
