The MoSD Strengthens Its Partnership in the "Enhancing Education and Early Childhood Care" Project with Support from the European Union
The Ministry of Social Development announced its role as a key partner in the "Enhancing Education and Early Childhood Care in Palestine" project, implemented with support from the European Union under the "Erasmus+" program. The project is led by Al-Quds Open University in collaboration with the Ministries of Education and Social Development, alongside Palestinian universities, including Al-Aqsa University, Al-Ummah College, and Al-Rawdah College, as well as six leading European universities and institutions.
The project aims to ensure that Palestinian children have sustainable access to early childhood care services by strengthening the Palestinian government's commitment to developing this vital sector. It seeks to empower universities and institutions related to early childhood care, both locally and internationally, to work collaboratively in delivering advanced services. Additionally, the project prioritizes integrating Palestinian children's rights as a national priority that contributes to achieving justice, equality, and addressing the challenges facing this sector.
The Ministry emphasized its pivotal role in implementing the project, focusing on strategic planning and close cooperation with partners to ensure comprehensive plans that enhance the quality of services provided to children. The Ministry also contributes to developing training programs aimed at building the capacities of early childhood professionals according to the latest international standards. Furthermore, it supports Palestinian families to ensure children benefit from the services provided by the project.
The project includes the implementation of several interconnected activities, such as developing specialized educational curricula in cooperation with participating universities, organizing workshops and training sessions to enhance staff capacities, fostering international collaboration through knowledge exchange with European universities, and creating modern digital platforms that offer educational and training content to improve the quality of early childhood services.
The Ministry clarified that the project was implemented through integrative mechanisms that ensure coordination between governmental and academic institutions, with a focus on addressing the needs of the most vulnerable groups in Palestinian society. It underscored the importance of this project as a strategic step within a national vision aimed at developing the early childhood sector as part of sustainable development efforts. The Ministry highlighted that collaboration with local and international partners enhances the chances of achieving the project’s objectives and supports the right of Palestinian children to equitable and high-quality services.
